Investment Criteria

Do you fit the LIVHealth profile and are you raising capital? We apply the following investment criteria when screening startups:

  • Startups should have technological solutions for high burden public health challenges, especially non-communicable diseases and primary care. Solutions should address value chain components of prevention, screening, diagnostics, service delivery, information management, or health financing/insurance. 

  • We seek startups leveraging technology to deliver real healthcare solutions, particularly those utilizing a hybrid model that combines technology and human touch. We seek to invest in highly scalable and capital efficient models.

  • Startups should have capital-efficient models, particularly B2B and 'B2B2C,' that leverage partnerships for customer acquisition and scaling. Under the right circumstances we do also invest in capital efficient B2C models.

  • A strong investment candidate will have a validated product or service model with a demonstrated potential for large-scale impact. We do not invest in startups with "binary" technology risks (where the outcome is strictly success or failure).

  • Startups should have a defensible strategy that secures their position in the market. This includes tech, business model and strong partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance their ability to execute and scale effectively. 

  • A stellar team is crucial for the success of any startup. There must also be a rational ownership structure that aligns the incentives of founders, key team members and early investors. 

  • Startups need to demonstrate a solid revenue model with sound unit economics and a clear path to profitability.
